We were thrilled to be invited by Louth Rotary Club to perform with the dynamic, award winning East Yorkshire Motor Services Band at their Spring Concert where profit made was to be used to aid local people in need.
Once again St James Church provided a magnificent backdrop for this exciting and entertaining evening of music and song . The church was certainly filled with a varied and lively repertoire and received rapturous applause from a very appreciative audience.
The Meridian Singers showcased their challenging and engaging repertoire under the excellent leadership of their new Music Director, Mrs Susan Bortolot Neal, who wants to bring a bit of ‘girl power’ and joy to everything the choir does. Her enthusiasm and sheer force of personality helped to produce many moments of passion and heart stopping sound throughout the evening with the promise of many more such times to come.
We were pushed to new heights and revelled in the challenge of singing songs such as The Water Of Tyne, California Dreamin’ and The Lake Isle of Innisfree, but our greatest triumph was our performance of Libertango, a fast-paced, exciting, energetic song that left us both exhilarated and ‘on a high’!!
Once again our accompanist Gill Parker supported us with her never failing musical excellence.
We had a truly exciting and memorable evening which was greatly enjoyed by all who attended the concert. Thank you to everyone who contributed towards this.
We hope to add some visual as well as audio recordings to our website in the near future, where we can showcase our unique Meridian Singers sound. Watch out for them!!!
