Wassail Extravaganzas!🎄🎼😊

 Christmas 2018

Once again the Meridian Singers provided a number of exciting evenings of seasonal song and festive fun under the new Musical Directorship of Susan Bortolot-Neal. The Wassail Extravaganzas, performed at St James Church Christmas Tree Festival, the Trinity Centre and again at All Saints Church Tealby, certainly enhanced the excitement and poignancy of all things ‘Christmas’ from the choir’s rendition of the ‘Coventry Carol’ to the humorous reading of ‘The School Nativity Play’. Participation in the singing of traditional carols was integral to the performances and filled the venues with both warmth and goodwill. As it was ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ the very appreciative audiences were invited to come and ‘Jingle (their) Bells’ because ‘Santa Claus was Coming to Town’ bringing both a ‘Silent’ and ‘Holy Night’!
What a wonderful way to end a year of challenge, change, excitement, with many new members being welcomed into the choir and finishing with a feeling of expectation for the new year ahead and all that it may bring!
Once again our thanks go to Susan and Gill for their endless patience, their high expectations for the Meridian singers which they make attainable through humour and fun and of course we thank them for their excellence in all things ‘musical’.

I won’t go and hear a lot of choirs in Louth but I will come and hear you again”.   M

“A wonderful evening!” C.B.
